*A Note on Worship Attire

In keeping with the teachings of Scripture and the apostolic tradition, we kindly ask that women wear modest apparel, such as dresses or skirts, and cover their heads during worship. Head coverings are available at the church gathering for any women who may need one.

We also ask that men remove hats during worship and dress modestly, preferably wearing pants and shirts with sleeves rather than shorts or tank tops.

For over 1,900 years, Christians had remarkable unity in both belief and practice regarding head coverings. This apostolic tradition—intended for all churches across all ages—began to be set aside less than 100 years ago, with the rise of feminism and the cultural rejection of God’s created order.

Today, most men have no hesitation in removing a cap or hat when in worship. The tension, it seems, arises when women are exhorted to cover their heads—often dismissed as “legalistic” or even “cultic.”

Most believers today are not familiar with church history and the understanding our Christian ancestors held regarding this Biblical command.
